New Year New Bedroom

Going into a new year people are always going on and on about their resolutions, I’m definitely not a resolution kind of girl.  In my mind a resolution is something you need when you identify a problem, I like the sound of New Year Intentions because if I tell myself there’s something I want to do then I most certainly intend on doing it!

One of my New Year’s Intentions is to give myself the bedroom of my dreams.  Those who know me know I live for redecorating a space and I have been wanting to redo our bedroom for quite some time now.  Well I honestly plan on redoing the entire apartment but let’s start in the bedroom! Now I know what you’re thinking, 1. that’s not a New Year’s goal and 2. I hope you’re not going to make this room to girly, – listen Jeff doesn’t care what our room looks like a long as it’s not pink and frilly and it stays comfortable, and it is a goal for me.

I wanted to take the foundation we already have and just add to it – the foundation begins for us with dark wood furniture.  Perfect for any color palette moving forward and I want a soft and more so neutral color palette.  Neutrals will always be perfect in my eyes, there’s something very clean, bright and serene about neutrals in a bedroom.  I’ve found myself drawn to photos of white bedding and I would love to have accents of blush or grey, possibly even a deep royal blue or forest green – in pillows or a throw blanket of course.  Something has to be fun in a room full of neutral bedding right?
