In life every day is different – the saying goes when life gives you lemons right? Well what are you going to do with those lemons? In all honesty I don’t know where I’m going with that saying BUT I have been thinking recently about us as humans. We are designed to be content and happy although yes we do need to experience the range of emotions we truly are suppose to be content so I have curated a list of things we can do every week to ensure we have great weeks! or at least better weeks.
Make Your Bed
Now I know some people think why should I make the bed when I’m just going to get back in it at the end of the day? I so disagree with that statement – I need to make the bed every morning (well almost every morning) we all slip from time to time. Contrary to what people may think making the bed in the morning isn’t about aesthetics although I will say the room definitely looks more put together when the bed is made, it’s actually about completing a task first thing in the morning. There’s a small sense of accomplishment that lends itself to the rest of our day.
Schedule in Some Exercise
If you’re not someone who actively works out (I am not) then scheduling in a time to get active will not only make you feel great because HELLO endorphins, but you’ll feel more organized too! We scheduled meetings at work and appointments in our personal lives so why not assess you daily schedule and see when it works best for you to get active?
Set Goals for the Week
I’ve often found that when you have something to work towards and when you know exactly what it is you’re more productive! Think about things you’ve been putting off and make it your weekly goal to get them done! That email that needs to get sent, cleaning out the fridge, scheduling that doctor appointment you’ve been putting off. I promise at the week’s end when you look over the goals you’ve been able to tick off you’ll feel accomplished.
Indulge in Self Care
Taking care of yourself, even if only for an hour out of the week will certainly assist in making your week better. A bubble bath with a glass of wine on a Thursday night, a manicure and pedicure Monday afternoon or even that 2 hour hair appointment on Wednesday afternoon. Schedule in that time to do something for yourself and relax and allow yourself to enjoy it!
Schedule Something that Excites You
One thing that I’m always looking forward to is anything that excites me – whether that’s date night with my husband, game night with our friends, happy hour with some girlfriends or a coffee date with m best friend Ghislaine, I’ve realized that scheduling something in my week that I’m truly looking forward to always makes my week just a tad bit better!
