The cotton white tank top has always been a staple in one’s wardrobe. I mean seriously, for as long as I can remember I’ve had a basic white tank top. It’s a universal piece that can be dressed or down and a piece that you really shouldn’t spend an arm and a leg on. Now I’m not saying go out to Forever 21 and purchase a $1.20 tank that’s going to shrink and thin out after just one wash BUT I will say my $9.90 white cotton tank from the BASICS section of H&M has not wavered in quality in the 7 years I’ve had it! I love the idea of taking a basic, everyday wardrobe piece and styling it in a way that takes minimal effort for the dresser!
How I Wore It
One thing Jeff always says to me I tricked him! He says when we first met all I wore was heels and these days I’m much more a loafer and sandal type of girl; of course I have to remind him when we first started dating there were a lot of dates that required a dress and heels but that’s neither here nor there. I decided to pair my white tank with a distressed pair of mom jeans (please not although these jeans were purchased from American Eagle I did the distressing myself) Now this look on its own could be served MANY different ways. Paired with sandals, paired with sneakers, worn with booties and a leather jacket however I decided to pair the look with my wedding shoes! I know plenty of women who spend an insane amount of coin on a wedding shoe and then place them on display never to be worn again, I am NOT that woman! I spent a pretty penny on these beautiful Loubs and they shall most definitely be worn!
I love the idea of an extremely simple outfit such as a jean and white tank or tee pairing with a killer pair of shoes and in my case most often (depending on the event for the day) that’s a killer pair of heels. This is a look I’d wear to happy hour with the girls, a nice lunch with friends or on an early evening date night with Jeff. I added a little something eye catching up top to balance the extremely plain look and give a top and bottom fun feel with the shoes with these Pink beaded Forema Boutique statement earrings and I think they complimented the look pretty well!
