This one is most definitely for all my twenty something girls out there because frankly if you’re in your thirties these are things you should definitely already know! When I got my first office job my mother took me shopping to what is now one of my absolutely favorite stores, Banana Republic to get me the wardrobe essentials every woman needs when working in an office environment. Of course now my trip to BR are filled with $300 receipts and fun pieces but I like to make sure that Have those essentials in my closet at any given moment!

The Suit
Every woman should have a suit in her closet(like this Banana Republic linked suit), whether you’re into wide legged trousers or a cropped pant, the bottom/blazer combo is a must! Not only can the pieces be mixed and matched but when properly fitted are extremely professional! For our wardrobe essential make sure you get a simple color; Black or Navy Blue.
The Pencil Skirt
I’ve always been a fan of the pencil skirt. A professional wardrobe piece that can still be pretty sexy. This is definitely a skirt you can wear into a board meeting just before taking your blazer off and heading to Happy Hour with some friends.
The A Line Skirt
While we’re on the subject of skirts, the A Line Skirt is definitely a work wardrobe essential. This is a closet piece that can be worn year round, whether its Winter in your wearing your skirt with tights, boots and an oversized sweater (with a jacket of course) or Summer and you’re wearing it with a pussybow blouse, the aline skirt is always acceptable in the office.
The White Blouse
Ladies, you absolutely need a white blouse in your closet! Whether you’re in an office that allows denim on casual Friday or your pairing your blouse with those funky trousers you bought from the loft, a white blouse is definitely a closet necessity.
Black and Nude Pumps
I feel like this one should go without any explanation. You absolutely need a pair of Black pumps and a pair of Nude pumps in your wardrobe. Whether you’ve got the job or you’re interviewing for the job, a pump in a clean classic color is something you should always have to fall back on.
The Ballet Flat
I’m all about a ballet fat and I truly credit my love for them to Olivia Palermo. A round toe ballet flat is so perfect for those days in the office when you’re running around. Of course I keep a pair of black pumps under my desk at all times incase I have an walk in appointments however a flat can be so chic and add a little fun to any outfit.
The Dress
When I say the dress you all know exactly what style of dress I’m talking about. It’s fun to have those pretty colors, and floral designs in your closet however for wardrobe essentials you definitely need a black, nude, navy pencil dress.
