This past weekend some friend and I were lucky enough to be invited to the soft opening of Downtown Orlando’s newest BBQ restaurant, Caro-Bama and boy do I tell you it was a packed house!
On the floor level of the NORA apartment building on Orange Ave, Caro-Bama is in prime real estate, surrounded by residence and business buildings, I see this place being packed all hours of the day and of course there is complimentary street parking as well as a garage right around the corner. The vibe inside is insane, super relaxing and still cool and fun. Light colors make you feel easily able to unwind and the open layout is perfect for a “hangout” feeling.
Let’s get into this food! I’ve known about Caro-Bama for quiet some time because they are a food truck that Jeff and I have visited a few times, ( you know we’re food truck people) so when I heard about the store front I was beyond excited! The menu is composed of sandwiches, sides and an array of killer sauces! From the signature Caro-Bama Sandwich – Pulled Pork, Bama White Sauce and Carolina Vinegar Sauce to what I ordered, the Free Bird which is Chopped Chicken, Bama White Sauce, topped with Chipped Onions and Jalepenos and even the Talladega – Sliced Beef Brisket ( yum!!) Conch Sausage – a known Alabama fav!, Baja White Sauce, Sweet Home Sauce and Chopped Jalepenos and of course every other sandwich not he menu there really is something for everyone and of course there’s the sides – Mama’s Cole Slaw, BBQ Baked Beans, Creamy Corn Casserole and Mac N Cheese!
All in all I’d have to say the soft opening was super great and the food was obviously even better! Be sure to check Caro-Bama out when you’re in town and follow their social media! Caro-Bama Facebook and Caro-Bama Twitter
