You’re probably all thinking, well Danielle now that you’re engaged what are you doing. Well I’m pinning and emailing but mostly pinning!
Seriously when wedding planning, the last emotion you want to feel but the first or maybe the second you’ll probably feel is overwhelmed right next to overjoyed! But trust me when I say Pinterest can be your best friend in the early stages of wedding planning! It’s definitely been my best friend (maybe even before I was actually engaged!)
In my opinion Pinterest is perfect for wedding planning – or for at least trying to get a visual idea of what you like, what you don’t like, what you’re semi interested in- and then of course there are the pins of things you absolutely love! Pinterest helped me to narrow down on a theme I love, the colors I envision and even the florals or lack there of that I want.
For those of you who don’t know much about Pinterest, it gives you the option to create your very own visual board and allows you to see what other people have pinned and what they like. From venues to décor, food and dresses and honestly just about everything else you can imagine, it’s all there for you on Pinterest!
My personal Mr. and Mrs. Knight Pinterest Board is full of whimsical, garden-y wedding ceremony and reception themed pins. From wedding dresses with lace and flowers to farm style tables and dessert tables instead of cakes ( I hate cake ) I’m literally all about it! I’ve found that Pinterest is really helpful because you can also share your pins directly from your board to those who really need to see them, especially if your wedding board is being kept private much like mine!
Now when it comes to emailing I’ve created an email dedicated to our wedding to keep all of our correspondence in one place for both Jeff and I as well as my mother to see anytime. Ladies I’ve also created a binder titled “Our Wedding” full of print outs that ( you guessed it ) are from Pinterest as well as packages from perspective venues and all the correspondence between myself and all the prospective venues and vendors.
All in all the next step after getting engaged is really just about finding what you like and talking to people in the industry to really see what’s out there for you!
Are you recently engaged? If you are what wedding planning help are you loving right now?
