5 Things Gossip Girl Taught Us All….

Before there was the CW, there were books…  In eighth grade the entire Gossip Girl series was all I read so I’d like to begin this by saying Thank You to Cecily von Ziegesar.  You truly have helped to shape my closet as it is now! (amongst other things)

Shifting from the books to the amazing 6 season series which was amazing, everyone has a little of each character in them, whether that be Queen Bee Blair Waldorf, Free Spirit Popular girl Serena Van Der Woodson, Rebel Jenny or anyone else.  I learned many things and today I’m going to share 10 of them with you.

1. It’s Perfectly Acceptable to Mix Patterns

Just like color blocking, mixing patterns is definitely eye catching and when done the right way is most certainly on my trending list! Not one character was better at mixing prints than Blair Waldorf herself and as shown above it’s easy and cute!

2. Wear Your Headband With As Much Confidence as Your Tiara

 I must say in my opinion it is Gossip Girl who solely brought headbands back to life! With the exception of the boys, I think almost every female character n the show wore a headband at one point or bother, whether small and delicate or bold and bejeweled we spotted a headband in just about every episode throughout the 6 seasons.

3. Winters Best Accessory is a Coat

Now living in Florida I don’t’ exactly have the pleasure of sporting this next trend BUT growing up in New York I can certainly appreciate it! Winters best accessory is the coat! no matter the color, length or style you can dress it up or dress it down!

4. Color Is Your Friend

Everyone knows I’m a feline who loves black but everyone, you must remember color is your friend!  Every skin tone has that one color that compliments it and every season has it color scheme, try it out!

5. Everyone Can Pull Off a Hat

Last but definitely not least, the hat! Whether a fedora, a bucket or a golfer, worn with jeans or a dress remember a hat pulls together every look effortlessly!
