Two of people’s favorite things are coming together for the collaboration of a lifetime; Diane Von Furtsneburg and Google for the google glasses, they couldn’t have picked someone better. It’s been nearly 40 years since Ms. Furstenberg has revolutionized how woman everywhere dress with her infamous wrap dress and at almost 70 years old she’s still just as creative as ever!
Elle Magazine has quoted Diane saying “I’m old enough to have danced at studio 54 and young enough to not have missed the digital revolution” That statement has so much power within it because it’s showing she has a perspective that these younger and newer designers don’t have, she can appeal to everyone!
In the 2013 Spring shows Furstenburg made fashion headlines when she incorporated the Google Glass into her show, every and I mean everyone from the models to the hair and make up crew and even the co founder of google Sergey Brin how of course was with Diane in the front row all wore google glass, what a statement to make!
Google glass is essentially a computer on your face, by having the entire backstage and models of the show wearing the glasses they were able to film the show from everyones point of view which has never been done, yo’ve never been in the models spit walking down the catwalk of one of the biggest shows during the tents and with the google bass we were able to do so.
Yesterday at the reveal of her 2015 Resort collection the unveil of | DVF, Made for Glass| the collection of glasses, both sunglasses and prescription, for the fashionable tech savvy fashionista took place. This is the first time Glass has partnered with any fashion house and this might just give it exactly what it needs!
The full collection will be available June 23 at google.com/glass , the prescriptive frame including the glass will be $1,725 and the shades will be $1,620.
