As a woman getting married this Summer (in 17 days to be exact and yes the excitement has finally kicked in) I thought why not put together a carefully curated selection of dresses perfect for a Summer wedding. Finding the perfect look for a Summer wedding can be a bit difficult, depending on your style you may want to keep it light in terms of color but that pale pink can walk a thin line on being too close to white, and the formality plays a huge part in what you will wear. You absolutely have to know your couple, I’m definitely a “formal” type of girl. I don’t’ want to see someone in a Farmer’s Market Sunday dress at my wedding regardless of the season or time but there are definitely brides who like a more casual look! It’s all abbot what your couple wants for their big day! If you’re interest in what I think are great looks for a Summer wedding then keep reading!

If you’re interested in my 3 favorite trends for this Summer then keep reading!

What are your thoughts on my favorite trends and what trends are you looking forward to incorporating into your wardrobe this Summer?
I doubt I’m the only one who has been noticing that lately polka dots have been certainly having their moment! To be honest I’ve never been a polka dot girl fearing they were a bit childish but there are tons of brands much like Target’s A New Day (dress pictured) that take the age old trend and make it wearable for adults!
Polka Dots can be anything you want them to be, retro, classic, everyday and much more! I chose to let me A New Day Polka Dot dress stand out on it’s own and paired it with very simple, white beaded earrings from Bauble Bar’s Target Collection known as Sugarfix! (they were only $12.99 like much of the collection’s earrings!) and my Gold Knotted Mules also from Target! What are your thoughts on Polka Dots?!

I know its been in the negatives pretty much all over the country (my brother and his wife live in Milwaukee and with the wind chill it was -60 degrees) I could never! SO after a week of the weather app saying it would be rainy ALL DAY Saturday I was beyond happy to see that it was notably not rainy but the sun was shining and it was fairly warm out!
I bought this star denim jacket in November 2017 when Jeff and I went to New Orleans for a long weekend from a little boutique on Magazine St. Armoire Boutique and I live for any moment I get to wear it! I feel it’s the perfect piece to jazz up any outfit and it went perfectly with this denim and white tank look!
Wishing warmer weather to all my guys and gals out there freezing right now!
I’d like to think we’ve recently began entering the time of simplistic and minimalistic living. Whether that’s in our home décor, our food selection, our way of living or our wardrobe. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about building a capsule wardrobe. A collection of pieces that are so versatile, they can be taken from day to night and even from Summer to Fall. I’ve spoken time and time again about having pieces in your wardrobe that are basic necessities. Pieces that are simple and easily create a look!

If you don’t know too much about a Capsule Wardrobe the basis is this; a collection of essential items of clothing that will always remain in style. Pieces that can be paired together seasonally and situationally to create timeless looks. Essentially shopping for style not necessarily trends and creating a wardrobe from those pieces. These are pieces you want to make sure are quality – perhaps instead of buying the basic white t-shirt from Forever 21, purchase it from Zara. If you’re interested in what pieces I think are needed to cultivate a simple and versatile capsule wardrobe then keep reading because I’m breaking down my 25 pieces needed to create the perfect (and perhaps somewhat Parisian) capsule wardrobe.
THE PERFECT CROPPED JEAN
THE WHITE T SHIRT
THE WHITE BLOUSE
THE BLACK BLOUSE
THE CREAM SWEATER
THE BLACK SWEATER
THE NUDE CARDIGAN
A DENIM JACKET
THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS
A BLACK LEATHER JACKET
A BLACK A-LINE SKIRT
THE BLACK BLAZER
BLACK BALLET FLATS
BLACK TOTE BAG

I hope this was helpful for those of you looking to cultivate your perfect capsule wardrobe and remember ladies; when shopping for the basics for your wardrobe remember that a “basic” is something you can wear over and over again, something that is easily paired with items you already own, and is a staple in fashion (and your wardrobe) not a trend!
