A Designer to Love; Michael Costello

Image

Michael Costella was first introduced to me via Lilly Ghalichi from the Shahs of Sunset.  She wore his beautiful gowns to almost every function she attended during and well after taping of the show and then I saw his creations again on Beyonce’ at the Grammy’s. (pictured below) It seems this young man is slowly but surely taking over red carpets all over and everyone is definitely loving him!

The well known Costello gown Beyonce wore to the Grammy’s

For those who do not know or may not remember Michael Costello was a contestant on Project Runway’s Season 8 and was a finalist on the shows Allstar season, he clearly wasn’t just a fan favorite.  Costello has dressed more than just these 2 fabulous ladies, his list of cliental includes but isn’t limited to Celine Dion, Paris Hilton and many of the reality TV “real housewives”.  One of his biggest accomplishments? other than having Beyonce’ wear his gown to the Grammy’s, this self taught designer was featured in VOGUE, at age 14 he created a couture collected which earned him an article in Vogue titled “LA’s Hidden Talent”

Below are some gowns I simply LOVE!

Marchesa to Show Their 2015 Collection in London

Everyones favorite girly girl design duo Marchesa is hopping over the pond! but don’t worry it’s not permanent.  Co-Founders of this amazing line Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have decided to celebrate their 10th anniversary in the business this September at London Fashion Week and we couldn’t be more excited.

Image

The two expressed how quite some time ago they had been approached by the British Fashion Council to show in London and finally decided to give it a go. The format of their show will remain the same (a classic runway and seating) they are just as excited if not a tad bit more as everyone in London who will be in attendance. With London being a huge fashion city with an indescribable energy the two woman explained how they are ecstatic to be sharing their collection with a larger audience which will now include British editors and buyers! The two woman themselves are from the U.K so going back home to celebrate their 10th year felt right.

This celebration is more then 10 years in the fashion industry it is also the launch of their new bridal jewelry line and I couldn’t be happier or more excited!

A Romance We’ve Waited On…

Well, maybe it isn’t exactly a romance but it’s a partnership we’ve waited on all our lives and it’s none other than Ms. Sarah Jessica Parker and Manolo Blahnik.

Image

We couldn’t have waited any longer! My fashion dreams have come true and the world’s very own Carrie Bradshaw/Sarah Jessica Parker has collaborated with the shoe God Manolo Blahnik! According to SJP over the years many designers have approached her about a collar for a show and she said it never felt right but after 10 years of the fashion’s favorite show Sex And The City Sarah Jessica decided to take the lead so who did she call? None other than Mr Blahnik himself and his response to her proposal? “Meet me at the office tomorrow” The words any woman and especially a woman with a love for shoes would kill to hear from Manolo Blahnik.

After a year in some time SJP for Manolo will debut over 30 different shoes that we simply can not wait to see!

A World’s Style Icon

None other than Sarah Jessica Parker, the woman who every woman knows about because of her style! Whether she’s prancing around as Carrie Bradshaw or as herself every woman in the world knows about this woman.  SJP has gone on record saying growing up in Ohio her family had no money but her mother had access to a store that kept them dressed as great as the Kennedy’s.

Today Sarah Jessica can afford to be dressed in whatever she’d like and with friends like Anna Wintour and just about every designer there is she does just that.  If i was able to raid just one (well maybe 2) closets my pick would definitely be SJP and Ms. Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica Parker has been in a numerous amount of movies but in my opinion is most know for her fashion role as writer Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City and it’s this show turned movie that branded her as the world style icon that she is today!
