Just this past weekend I posted a photo to my Instagram and the amount of direct messages I received was insane! SO many questions about my makeup routine, the foundation and concealer I use, my lashes etc so I thought why not dedicate this Tuesday’s blog post to my current make up routine! I’ll be running through my products used in the order of how I apply them!
#1 | EYEBROWS I apply my eyebrows before everything else because I need to ensure that should there be a mess up I can comfortably fix it without messing up the rest of my face. Lately (I’d say for the last few weeks) I’v been using the Morphe Cosmetics eyebrow pencil, it’s super smooth and lasts all day when paired with the Morphe Cosmetics setting brow gel.
#2 | PRIMER No primer has ever been as great to me as the NYX Cosmetics Pore Filler and thats why it is literally become a cult favorite of mine! I apply the primer on my T Zone and smooth it into my pores with my fingers gently. Remember though a primer is not meant to stand in place of your skincare routine and if you guys want I’ll cover that in a later post!
#3 | FOUNDATION I will say for years I have used a foundation that is much darker then needed ( I really don’t know why) but recently I have begun using the perfect foundation the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus foundation in the color Cocoa. Not only is the finished great and the coverage medium with buildable qualities but the color is the most perfect color match I’ve ever found. I apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender ALWAYS
#4 | CONCEALER this is where things get tricky – my concealer changes depending on what I have going on that day but typically I use the Juvia’s Place I am Magic concealer in the shade J11 under my eyes, on the bridge of mynas, above my lip, on my chin and of course int he middle of my forehead ; blend it out with a beauty blender ( damp again) and then I will dab the Elf Concealer in the color Medium Beige for some extra brightness just under my eyes. Although I like a bright under eye I would NEVER use the Medium Beige on it’s own the color is very very light.
#5 | SETTING POWDER my go to setting powder recently has been the Makeup Revolution Deep Banana Powder. Now honestly this powder can get cake if you’re not careful, I typically apply my setting powders with a damp beauty blend but not this one! I apply this with a dry beauty blender and let it sit while I move onto bronzer.
#6 | BRONZER and BLUSH While my setting powder is baking I apply my Bronzer (an Urban Decay powder foundation) with a Real Techniques Fluffy Powder Brush and then I move onto blush which is a Mac Cosmetics blush applied with a Real Techniques Fluffy Counter brush. I then brush away the excess setting powder
#7 HIGHLIGHT | Highlight is when the magic happens! I spray my setting spray onto a fluffy concealer brush and use it with my Mac Cosmetics Gold Deposit highlight for the perfect glow on my cheekbones, my Cupid’s bow, the tip and bridge of my nose and a little on my forehead just above each brow
#8 MASCARA | Lately I’ve been using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and I really am loving it. I like to apply mascara to my natural lashes just before applying my go to lashes the Ardell Beauty Demi Whispies! Literally the only lashes I wear.
#9 LIPS | Typically I go for a nude lip and my go to is the Jordana Coco Loco Liner paired with the Morphe Cosmetics Free Bird Gloss but lately I’ve been reaching for my light pink ColourPop Cosmetics gloss paired with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Moon Jelly gloss!
