When you look your best, you feel your best and I’ve come to realize when you feel your best you absolutely do your best.
A few years ago Being Mary Jane ( a television series ) premiered and throughout the show we learned main character Mary Jane would keep post its of daily affirmation on her vanity.I thought to myself this is a great idea so I began to do it. I found that even on those days when I wasn’t feeling so great, I’d see my post its at my vanity and they would push me to put more effort into my look which would suddenly make me feel much better about myself and I’d get ready to conquer the day! I began writing down the compliments I would get from people on those days where I had to use my affirmations and sticking those on my vanity as well and believe me when I say the bad days came around less and less.
I’ve always had a love for a cropped and fitted slack especially one that’s a little high waist so I can pair it with a cropped top that doesn’t necessarily look cropped. Thankfully in my office I’m ale to play with my look, as long as we keep it pretty business casual we’re okay! Knowing my Director however and with the personal way I want to appear to clients I never keep it too casual put I always keep it fun! That’s wear this red trench comes into play! I believe a pop of color will add some fun to any look. Remember Perception is Reality ; if you make yourself look good then you will feel good, if you make yourself look professional, people will believe you’re professional ( at least from first glance )
I love pairing a tench coat or even a trench vest as I’ve done int he past with almost any look because they allow you to aesthetically have two different looks jacket on and off. You’re not going to be walking around the office in a trench coat however when approaching a client for an out of office lunch it’s a fun reveal of what you’ll be wearing. On the flip side with a trench vest you can wear the vest open throughout the day layered over your look for some extra flair! I pieced this look together with 4 very classic and simple pieces that you too can find with any budget! I grabbed this bright red coat from Old Navy, will my silk, white top is from my local Banana Republic Factory store, paired with these fitted and cropped trousers from H&M and my Christian Louboutin So Kates the look is a fairly simple and clean one!
This is even a ook you can pair with a low top all white Chucks Taylor and a denim jacket instead of the trench coat and you easily have an after work running around outfit! Always look for and purchase pieces that can be versatile in many ways!
