Let’s Get Smart..

Ladies!! it’s time to get smart… well smart when we shop at least. It’s perfectly acceptable to splurge on pieces but you have to be smart about it. Splurge on key pieces, pieces that are classic, timeless and good quality. It’s okay to buy cheap items for your wardrobe but you have to know that not all cheap items are good items, the same goes for inexpensive item as well as bargain items and YES ladies, there is a difference. First let me break down the difference between cheap, inexpensive and a bargain. (every girl loves a bargain!)

Cheap; just because something is expensive in cost doesn’t mean it looks expensive, even the highest price tags can look cheap so don’t be fooled by the name on the tag. When shopping take a look at the item at hand and ask yourself; does this material look cheap/synthetic? is it a good quality item? Does it appear to be poorly made? And frankly, would you see a street walker or the 16 year old at the teen club in it?

Inexpensive; now inexpensive is not just good, its great! this means the item is well made but low costing and every girl loves to keep some cash in her pockets while looking good. Not to sleazy looking and a nice fabric and you’re set.

A Bargain; now a bargain may not be what you think it is and Nina Garcia helped me to realize that! A bargain is an item that is well made but is expensive, might be a bit of a splurge BUT you find it at a discount! You leave the store feeling like you won and there’s no better feeling then shopping and NOT having buyers remorse after! Buying those $1500 Loboutins on sale for $1075, that’s a bargain!

Now that we have distinguished the differences between cheap, inexpensive and a bargain we can dive deeper into how you need to implement them into your shopping excursions.

Remember cheap is never really good, and as stated earlier cheap isn’t necessarily about the price tag it’s about the garment, how it’s made the fabric and of course how it fits. There’s nothing worse than walking into a meeting and looking less then presentable except maybe going out for a girls night on the town and looking like you’re working the streets. No one wants to look cheap!

Now inexpensive is great! This is your everyday wardrobe.  The jeans that aren’t 10 dollars but aren’t exactly 150 dollars either.  It’s shopping at Macy’s instead of Barney’s, you know that the quality is good and the garment is well made. You have the confidence that you look great and everyone’s eyes are on you!

Let’s get to everyone’s favorite, the bargain! The bargain brings out every girls inner Carrie Bradshaw.  There’s nothing better than snagging that Dior coat, those amazing Louboutins or even that Kate Spade purse at the ultimate bargain price.  Remember just because it has the designer name doesn’t mean you paid the design retail price!Finding those splurge worthy pieces at a bargain price is enough to keep any girl happy!

If nothing else I hope from reading this you’ve learned; looking cheap is never okay, you can always have the it look with the inexpensive price tag and always keep our eye open for a bargain!

Let’s go shop ladies!
