Living in Orlando, the second the weather drops to 70 everyone is bringing out the sweaters! Last weekend I bought this sweater from the Banana Republic Factory store for 60% off! I was so drawn into Mustard Yellow color and just HAD to purchase it.
I paired the sweater with this Burgundy Wool skater skirt (again from the Banana Republic Factory store) and was a little amazed at the how well the 2 colors complimented each other. I’m loving this skirt and not just because it has pockets (which we all love!) I paired the look with my Burgundy Over the Knee boots (similar here) and my Henri Bendel Mini Tilda Satchel which unfortunately is no longer available on the Bendel website.
One thing that’s been a tradition in my family around the holidays (and no I’m not talking about that one gift we open Christmas Eve) is my parent’s annual Christmas Eve Party! It’s an opportunity for our family and friends to come together, enjoy good food and spirits and just have a great time. And for me it’s an opportunity to put together a fun outfit!
This year much like in the past I opted for not only a dress but a black one although this year I was a bit more festive! This black short sleeve wrap dress with the gold dotted detail (similar here) was purchased from for Forever 21 and was definitely easy on the wallet! The dress was classy enough for a family holiday function but fun with the all over dotted detail. I paired the look with my favorite Steve Madden Edit Suede Ankle Boots and this killer Star detailed denim jacket that I purchased from Armoire Boutique on Magazine Street in New Orleans a few weeks back! Of course I had my newest handbag edition the Henri Bendel Carlyle Satchel in the Black Croc on my arm – now this bag is still available however the black croc is not.
What’s a tradition your family has for the holidays?
I’m not really one to celebrate holidays like Valentine’s Day, I mean don’t get me wrong I love a good gift and I’m always down for a dinner but really? I mean Jeff and I get each other gifts for no reason and we enjoy good dinner out but I’m not going to buy a pink ruffle dress just to go out to dinner the same way I’m not going to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day.
I’m all about a good outfit thought and not being so cliche with it either. With this Valentine’s Day look I wanted to keep the look sexy but still in an understated way. I opted for a maxi dress with long sleeves, the slit in the dress mixed with the deep V neck line is very night out worthy! The vibe this dress gives is conservative AND sexy and I must say pairing it with a black block heel allows the floral pattern on the dress to really pop and not be overshadowed by the shoes.
I’ve always been a big fan of maxi dressed because they allow for lottos movement and they’re fun. This looks perfect for a dinner because it has the playfulness of a day time dress with the sexiness and color scheme of a night out look!
If you’re loving my Valentine’s Day look leave a comment and tell me why!
