Lately I’ve really been feeling the 70’s look and with Summer on it’s way out and Fall just around the corner I thought I’d put together a look that was a mixture of the two seasons.

The high waist, flared jeans were a spur of the moment buy from Go Jane and I must say although I never shop online they were a perfect fit! Paired with a black tank knotted in the front and my “Oh So Fall” fur vest from Forever21, for a quick fix- ( I put the outfit together in minutes ) the base was great for some jazzing up with accessories.  I opted for a double banded black sandal from Old Navy and silver jewelry- a thrifted silver cuff and my signature XOXO necklaces gifted to me from my little sister.  Throw on a wide brimmed hat and a cross body bag and the look is complete!

Have a great sunday everyone!

Little Red Riding Hood…

red coat

My favorite part of February is the Valentine’s Day Weekend! Why? definitely not the happy couples LOL I love watching how people dress for whatever plans they have.  I know I previously said I’m so against the cliche’ and there would be no red for me however the red coat was a MUST! Take it off and my strapless midi dress fits like a glove and says Hello I am here! (In my NeNe Leakes Voice)

I snagged the dress from Sirens.  It caught me eye because the geometric patterns keep your eye moving, which I like. You don’t focus on one part of the dress for too long.  Strapless isn’t something I typically go for however the dress was so fitted that the top didn’t budge, and the deep V neckline was just enough cleavage.  I am a strict believer in you choose one area and you run with it.  If you’re going to show cleavage, try to keep the legs to a minimum and vis versa, I ran with the cleavage this day! The POP of red in my coat was the perfect touch of romance for Valentine’s Day and the perfect POP of the outfit! A touch of glamour with gold heels and TADA!

Black and Edgy

Sometimes it take something so simple to take an outfit from chic to edgy, whether you’re jazzing a look up with jewelry or doing what I did and tying denim or flannel around your waist, you can completely change the look of an outfit ins seconds.

Many of you may know when it comes to my closet I like to mix and match pieces, I don’t mind taking risks and I love to step out and see what works and what doesn’t.  Every piece in my closet I have in black in addition to whatever other color I have and this day I opted for a black pencil skirt with a racerback tank, paired with a denim shirt tied around my waist, black and gold pumps, a leather moto jacket for the Orlando breeze and my vintage Gucci clutch, I was pretty pleased with the outcome, whether I’m headed to lunch with girlfriends or an early dinner date I think this look is easily transitioned and if you find yourself heading to a place a little more put together all you have to do is remove the denim shirt form around your waist and you’re instantly left with a completely different look!

How do you make your pencil skirt or little black dress edgy?

This morning was a morning full of faith with amazing weather and a great message at church! I was extremely tired waking up and although black is my signature color I decided to add a pop of color (yellow) to help wake me up a bit.

Whether I’m going to school or going out for the day I absolutely LOVE looking my best, I’m a firm believer of “look good, feel good” and I believe Karla Deras said it best, ” I don’t wear a tut and heels out to get coffee because I want people to look at me I do it because it makes me feel good” Today was one of those ” i feel GREAT” days.

Im a shopper who likes to buy timeless pieces that can be mixd and matched, worn day or night and of course are affordable and this outfit complete embodies that.  The skirt was bought at H&M for a steal of $4.95 and the lace bralette only $5.99.  Typically I wouldn’t pair a top and bottom of the same color together but I felt with the pop of red from the purse and the color combination in the flats it worked! Off to my second case of the day
